DIY Slime

Hello everyone! Today I am blogging on DIY slime/putty. This is a SUPER fun craft to do when you’re bored, and it doesn’t use that many ingredients! The supplies you will need are:

  • Elmer’s glue (clear, regular, or glitter)
  • Liquid starch/borax  (we used laundry detergent)
  • food coloring (optional)
  • Glitter, stars, confetti, etc. (optional)
  • Bowl
  • Something to stir with

The first step is to pour the glue into a bowl. The amount of glue you use will be the size of the slime.

Next, pour the detergent or liquid starch or borax (use one of those three choices) into the glue only a little at a time!! Now is when you would want to put in the glitter (which, obviously, you don’t need if you are using glitter glue), confetti, etc. and/or food coloring. Mix and pour, mix and pour, and mix some more!

After stirring for about a minute or two, the slime should start to clump together like the picture above.

Take out the slime, even if it is a little liquidy, and work everything together. Stretch and fold, stretch and fold! It will be sticky at first! After 3-5 minutes it should come together. If the slime is still sticky (more than you would like it), add more detergent, liquid starch or what ever you used, not much though. That should help after some more stretching and folding 😉

Some tips I would advise: Only use Elmer’s glue brand! We tried an off brand/craft glitter glue and when we added the detergent, the glue just became more soupy!

Another tip:  All-natural/natural detergent will not work.

That’s it! Have fun playing with slime! If you haven’t already, follow this blog and like your favorite posts ❤ Also,if you want me to try something out and blog it, tell me in the comments and I’d be happy to try! Thank you for stopping by!

Until next time,

♥ Short & Sweet ♥
